Week 06- "Life's a Game Log #6"
So I guess we're back here for week 6. Why am I starting out like this well that's a question I cannot answer either. This week we played social deduction games. What does that mean? I have no clue either, so just search it up. Once you back here and you have found the answer, tell me, do they sound fun? Because I can tell you from the actual game time they were actually pretty fun. Something about these types of games was really fun. The having to solve a mystery type was the most fun mechanic of these games. I felt like I was sherlock homes trying to solve the mystery to find out the end goal. It was actually very fun, to say the least. Other design elements that this game entails include mystery, curiosity, trustworthiness or not, and lots of guessing. Since you can't be 100 percent sure about someone if they are telling the truth or not, it can be difficult to see the distance and figure out what is true and what isn't. So most of the time going with your instincts is all you got unless you have some evidence to make a very great guess then ya that's a great way to use your mind in this game. It relates to Macklin and Sharps's six elements in many ways that it has mechanics and ideas like any other game. This game and all games have many things that make them similar to one another because that's honestly just what makes many games, well uhh, games. Things like having a play area, having certain items and such are all many things of social deduction games. These games were honestly very fun and I enjoyed them, they are definitely a genre of games that I have to play again!
